India’s Solar Capacity Expansion Forecast for FY 2025

-JMK Research predicts 21.2 GW of new solar capacity in FY 2025.

-Expected capacity includes 16.5 GW from utility-scale PV, 4 GW from rooftop solar, and 700 MW from off-grid systems.

-FY 2024 saw 11.5 GW of new utility-scale solar capacity, 18% higher YoY, and 3 GW of rooftop solar, up 34% YoY.

-As of March 31, 2024, India’s cumulative renewable capacity reached 190.57 GW, with solar contributing 43%.

-Adani leads with 10.4 GW operational RE capacity and 21.95 GW in the pipeline.
